its not a hydra it is a chimera,
also you are way to far away to hear things it was saying, or see that it was pined and still alive, so that action does not make a lot of seance given the info your character has at this time, you may move to the fort and then see what is going on. for the cleric charged up there as well as the others.
He looks around to see if anyone is saying that and sees no one he must be that lightning hit to make him hear things that are not there. the head then looks to those that are there. turning to the others
" Do your worst but you will not brake me before the your city is turned to ashes. you will let me go or you and the people will suffer and die like the scum you are. your nothing but aunts need to be stomped out. If i die so does your pathetic freedom. NOW LET ME GO! "

Skar runs round the top of the wall to stand above the beast. Pointing his sword at it blood dripping from the end onto one of the heads, "kill it" he shouts.

Callo lets out a cruel laugh, driving the creatures draconic head into the wall with a foot before it could breath fire once again. In truth the creature was strong, almost too strong to hold, but best that it didn't believe that itself.
"Big words for the hired help. Any who would this mysterious master be? Perhaps you would have us believe Tiamat herself would fall on this city if we don't let you flee?" Callos voice drips scorn, if the creature had any master of note she doubted it would take much to encourage a name from it ... unless their master truly was to be feared.
"kill it" - The cries for blood from the populace, as ever so impatient. Turning towards the half orc guard "fetch your lord ... he may want to speak with this one" She hesitated for a moment as she saw it was the orc from earlier, still glowing with magic. Odd that so many warriors should arrive here today, the chimera never stood a chance.

I cast the Message spell. That's how I can talk to it. My range is 220 feet so I'm well within range. You can read about the spell here: www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Message (You'll need to copy paste this otherwise it will just take you to their home page.)
Also I don't need to be able to see what's going on to cast it. For all I know it could be fighting them right now but that wouldn't matter, cuz I can still cast it. (It doesn't need to be pinned)
The only reason it wouldn't work is if it's already dead.

"Boss!" Skar yells "We got one alive! And someone who seem's to be able to talk to it" [dice=20] +15 Using intimidation again to try and be loud.[rand=27293433994054794298816902097314696681426395662132463231380097568]

Nokomis stood aside, blades at the ready, listening to this conversation. All this talk of burning had her convinced that their masters were red dragons. She had no love of red dragons. Unlike the blue dragons, which could be reasoned with, red dragons seemed to love destruction for the sake of destruction. A chaotic blight that would be best removed, if only it were possible to do so. Unfortunately, red dragons were the most powerful of dragons.
I know that there are Dragon's more powerful than red dragons, but Nokomis doesn't :-)

Skywatcher approaches, addressing the chimera in Draconic as well.
"You s-spoke that you-ou are h-h-here at the b-be-b-behe-hest of you-our lords. I-I-I-I am int-t-terested in m-m-meeting them for n-ne-nnn...to speak."

the well wounded commander with heavy burns wobbles with a bit of help,
"stand down Skar we need it a live. your lord asked me to handle this for him."
as he gets nearer you can see his arm on peace of wood and uses it as a walking cane. "I need your friends to speak with me after the people leave. less public is better. whispers to Skar, " The lord is not hear he is on a quest and he has not returned from it. I fear the worst. him and his 50 of his men left we don't want the people to know. From the battle some may start to ask why he was not in it. turning and raising his voice so people can hear
" my good people the lord has informed me that you are safe, He wished to let you understand that he fell rather ill and could not rally his body to fight and asked me to send word that he is making a recovery and that he wished he could have fought in the battle to defend his beloved people and nation. Please return to the tents for you are safe." [dice=20]+8=16
you can make seance motive rolls if you are near by
most of this is a bluff but not all but still a bluff
the towns people seam to be skeptical but take it on faith it is the truth but it was not that convincing.
not a bluff: "you all fought for these lands and he would wish to thank you as would I for your bravery. we lost many men and the fort needs to be rebuilt. Today we rest, tonight we party and tomorrow come together united, and stand for our freedom once more. guards to your posts, in a softer voice Skar you stay hear with me."[rand=34507934283465147803801083471626671501346630975615865089581348002]

@ glass well it is true that it does not need to be pined, i was never saying that it had to be. and yes i know the spell very well.
this is what i was getting at:
you did not have the info to go off of that in context to cast it. you were not in there so u did not know if it was still a fight or talking in the fort. Also you did not hear it communicate in draconic so why would you think it could responded to the message anyway regardless of language you used? look it is not that important and i feel we are taking a bit to much time on something as a simple spell.
Form a DM perspective it sounded like you thought you heard the conversation and then cast the spell knowing that, but if you were going to cast it regardless of in or out of combat and use that as what would have been your action in combat then i get it was in context, for you did not know if it could respond back or not. Now that is cleared up we can move on.
Glass gets no response form his fist message, yet the fighting seams to have stopped and people are walking out of the fort. His friend and the people he meet are still up in the fort, for they have not come out yet. the smoke of the fort is not as bad as it was moments ago.

" The only reason why the would ever talk to scum like you is if you have the Ax, otherwise your a wast of breath and time, My lords only tolerate ambassadors of dragons, he respects no other for he is the King of Sira. his anger shows no mercy. one wrong look, if you reject any thing he says if you take offence to any of his actions or demands and he has no remorse in eating any who disrespect to him, for his is king."
sniff sniff.
"So there is a blue among you,why are you a trader and why are you fighting your own kind. your a disgrace to your kind and should be slain like along side your so call friends, you have dishonored your blue parents, you should die of shame."
you think yelling at me or threats will get me to talk? I work for someone how could kill you where you stand, no threat of yours could ever match his. I am a solder of the great Kerratanar the Destroyer. No matter what you do to me he could do so much worse. your wasting time you should be looking for that Ax of his so he does not have to kill you."
( his pride is getting the best of him for you are still getting info so the intimate worked just not in they way you expected. for you are questioning his loyalty, and slipped up. but does not get him "friendly". No matter what you do to me he could do so much worse
Yes there are more powerful dragons then reds, yet they are the most powerfull of the colored dragons.

Kerratanar? Callo searched her memory for the name, a dragon most likely but what would a dragon want with an ax? Then again they were quite possessive. She leans in a little closer, taking care to keep her weight on the creatures draconic head and speaking in more personable tones, "perhaps you are right, let us find this ax of yours. Describe it to me."[dice=20]+20 (free action to oppose his grapple roll) [dice=20]+22 sense motive for the wounded commander [dice=20]+7 knowledge (history) - Kerratanar the Destroyer [rand=446091891771710783611254028777587089197235217239025887267005555215]

Kerratanar is a red dragon that lead the killing and destruction of the nations in Sira, and clamemed it as his own, his children are now rules of different countries in Sira, but he is the King of all of Sira. He is the oldest most powerful dragon in Sira.
callo can seance the commander is not fully honest in parts of his speech for there are signs that gave him away as he spoke,
and the grapple is not being apposed at this point,
he describes the Ax: it is a Orc double Ax. both heads in the shape of dragon heads. and it has rubies in the hilt and hand placements. the rest has fire runes etched all over it.

The chimera's rant might have had more effect if Nokomis had a clue as to who her father was. But even her mother had had no clue that she had been dallying with a dragon until Nokomis was born. But as far as Nokomis knew, the Blue dragons had no love for the Red, but they lacked the power to actively oppose the bigger Red dragons. So Nokomis ignored the taunt. The others were getting good information, so left the questioning to them. Dealing with other's wasn't Nokomis's strong suit anyway.

(I spoke Draconic because I figured my 30 on the knowledge check would have told me.)
Blast, Glass thought to himself. Seems it's dead. The lightning probably. Well, there's no changing that now. Glass looked at the body of one of the beasts. Still, the bodies would have value. If, Glass wondered, If I do manage to learn who sent their dogs . . . A faint smile pressed on his lips. Would starting a war really be that easy? Fined out who sent them and then dump the bodies on the doorstep of a convenient dragon? Then the spell broke and Glass came back to his senses. It wouldn't do him any good to think that way. For now it was time to focus on what was at hand.
For all those who had eyes to see, magic had been here. Mages had been hunted to extinction in these lands. Disaster had been averted for these people today but Glass shuddered at the thought of tomorrow. Hopefully he had not outed himself with his magic.
Glass's mind settled into the moment as he crawled under burnt remnants of a tent and then reemerged coughing and completely visible.
Glass jogged over to the fort, mostly to see if the girl was unhurt, behemoth though she looked when she ran by. Glass stopped short of the threshold and, being sure to be out of sight and sound, cast detect magic.
(Using concealed casting anyway just in case. [dice=20] + 10)
People had been careless with their magic and he would know who they were soon enough. He walked silently threw the doorway into the unfolding scene.
(DM can decide how long that all takes and when Glass shows up.)[rand=5517044505104423532752380939200581279934733174746722692842595279]

People had been careless with their magic and he would know who they were soon enough. (In Callos case you'll get a negative back on magic use due to misdirection on herself and undetectable aura on her equipment, which might ring an alarm bell or two as she's currently 9 feet tall - though otherwise seemingly unchanged)

glass sees all the magical items people have pinging, but over shadowed by the massive magical energy coming for the well and it lights up the entire fort, the wall are not magical and everthing but the well is non magical.
and he may enter in btw so your free to act glass
The people nod to skar and make head way to the exit and file out. it takes a while but all the towns people that were in there are now gone. leaving the party and the commander alone with the beast.

"You may want to truss it up and muzzle it, if I have to drag this thing around i'd expect to be paid"
Callo didn't expect the creature to remain passive but knew that any sign of weakness would likely kick things off.
