Barbatos will ask a few questions regarding any difficulties he has been having with his draconnic translations - he has a lot of material to work through and doubtless some of it is archaic in nature.

Kayah has a good knowledge of archaic Draconic. She's willing to help Barbatos, but her limitation is a lack of magical knowledge. At least it was a limitation initially, once she realizes the lack, she taps her helmet and then seems trained in Arcana (although she still doesn't know the details of the levitation spell that held the citadel aloft).
Still, with her help, he can see how to cause the stone to levitate for a month at a time for no addition in cost.

OOC: Stravanya would offer the Diamond Bracers to the others cause she loves her Iron Armbands of power bracelets so much "That is a truly magnificent gift. You have my very deepest thanks. And I imagine my homeland's as well, for any land would be very lucky to receive someone of your honor and wisdom. It sounds like realities I once took for granted back there are exactly what you have been craving all these years. I'm sure you will prosper there."

"Zem, could you show her that map you drew of the original map we found in the casket before it changed to represent the current topography?" Perhaps she would recognize something there that we do not"

" i forgot i drew that with everything that was going on. i think my skills of map drawing are not as great as it could be. Still the outline should be a good representatio. I know you wish to leave but if you could just look at our map we have, i would be most greatful. "

Barbatos would not reject the offer of the bracers, recognising their power, but feels he has no particular claim to them and would not make such a suggestion until they have parted ways with Kayah.

She takes a look at the copy of the map, transit this way and that, then hands it back saying "Sorry, I not be recognizing thy map."

Barbatos also offers his thanks. With the enhancements to the ritual he is one step closer to sustaining such power on a grander scale and considers the practicality of returning to the crater for more, though his enthusiam is tempered by the knowledge that he will most likely need to enchant a number of magical items to further pursue his work.

After sharing a meal the group continues on there way with a bit of fresh produce to supplement their next meal or two. Kayah starts making her way towards the coast, with the rations offered to her being plenty to reach Moonhaven.
With the aid of the magic map, they are able to avoid most hazards. They occasionally see buildings or other features not on the map, but non prove as interesting as Kayah's dwelling. Then one morning Zem resets the map for that days travel, and sees on the edge of the map (about 10 miles away), a spot marked as Sarnath. After all this time, it still exists! This will give them a place to start their search.
OOC: Two issues. Did you want to do anything special on the approach to Sarnoth? No need to, just giving you the chance if you had something in mind.
And who gets the Diamond bracers? Any character could benefit from them. Harknail also already has an arm item, a glowing shield that had been given to him by the town of Moonhaven. So far only Barbatos has expressed interest.

( Zem will not take things until everyone he knows ( currently employed by him/ our current party) gets a fair share.
Harknail and ben are last ones left who need items next. Unless i miscounted ?
Yet hes not going to hand over something only clerics could use/ something my class should use/have He just wants loot handed out fairly/ everybody paid. ( makes for a fun game if party does not fight over loot, so far thank you all for willing to spilt loot.)
This being payment/gift he has no issues with the bracers going to barbarous.
" Just make sure they dont clash with your robes, you never know when there will be a party that we must attend. O and if anyone asked to take off armor/ lay down our arms, i think by a technical point it might not count but got to ask harknail here on that one."

Barbatos spends the journey alternating between study on the back of the cart and practice with the reactivated stone, summoning and dismissing short-lived mage hands in succession to propel him along. He also experiments with tying the rock behind the cart and speculates on the cost of far larger applications - perhaps using a floating disc or similar magic to propel such a construct.
(i've noted the bracers on Barbatos's sheet for now. Clarifications - do they apply against the attack that triggers them?)

OOC: I mentioned the enormous effort Stravanya has been putting into studying the map etc during the journey in post a few pages ago, it included skill checks. I know it yielding results is unlikely, but I'm just double checking now that the DM didn't post a response to that post because it yielded no results, not because he forgot about my post

Bennegar is going to pass on the bracers. He'd rather have something that enhances his magical ability. He figures that the bracers, while useful, would be more practical for one of his more martial allies.
((OOC: By the way, sorry for the lack of posts contributing to the progression of the game. I've been quite busy lately, trying to sort out work and all that. I've been checking the thread every couple of days, though, and Benny isn't really in his element right now, so he's kinda just staying to the back of the group, keeping to himself. Perhaps socializing with his new allies a bit to let them get to know him.))

Okay, Barbatos gets the diamond bracers. Stravanya concludes that the map is just a random cross country map much like is seen as Zem refreshs the magic map each day. Her studies of the book are much more rewarding. With the magic map to help with landmarks, she thinks she could find the locations described (as long as the landmarks are still recognizable).

But before you is a city that was standing when Harknail was forged. That's long enough that a major metropolis is now a deep forest. Yet this equally old city is still shows on the magic map. So does anyone want to make any special preparations?

Nothing special for Barbatos, he is bringing his enchanted stone (with the spell active), his books, and some basic supplies. He'll be taking advantage of the stone's power to keep his legs fresh once off the cart

The group approaches until they can see Sarnath with their own eyes. What the see is a walled town built in the rubble of a larger city. The outer wall looks intact but much patched, to the point that the patches have patches.
There is no road as such, but the area before the closed city gates is bare dirt, giving way to trampled grass before blending into grasslands. This indicates that the city and the gate are still used, with frequent traffic in and out of the gate.
The rubble of the old city would provide plenty of cover for approach for anyone on foot. Though it looks like the area around the wall has been cleared of rubble. There are paths though the rubble where the cart could be driven, but it would be visible to any guards on the walls. You can't see any guards, but you wouldn't expect to from this distance. Likewise, any guards are unlikely to have spotted you at this point.
