"These weapons and the chain shirt and this shadow armor. It's a fair trade but if you think it issent I'll offer the same trade with Lady Alara in person and we will wait until she is avalable to make the trade herself." says Ka'lion

"Then wait you will. You may have Lady Alaras thanks for your actions but do not think to abuse them on my watch.
Osbern indicates that Ka'lion and George may leave at their own convenience, though both are free to make a counter offer. He clearly believes that both armours carry more than simple enchantments of protection and from what little time has been spent with them he would appear to be right.
Ka'lions cash offer might hold good for a mundanes suit of enchanted armour, if such can be found for sale here, though the money is ultimately not Ka'lions to offer.

Where do you want to go / what do you want to do? Just wait in the inn for news?
The pair of you may wish to discuss your options if Alara turns down your offer, as seems likely if her advisor instructs her correctly on the valuation of the hammer and the relative worth of the armour.

(In truth im lost in the math of the trade at this point, i would like two lists or a chart, one side what we are offering and other what we can get. Im lost in the transaction at this point. I have money to cover the hat/ original cost. And i do wish trades otherwise this has been a complete wast of time.)

(In truth im lost in the math of the trade at this point) Short version - Ka'lion is vastly overstating the value of your items and offering to pay Osbern far less than the magical items are worth.
Normally unwanted magical items are offloaded for around half their listed worth, but if Osbern had accepted Ka'lions last offer you'd have doubled your money, if not more. You've already got above market value for the scythe to give you some cash to spend around but your situation is now this - Osbern has offered to trade: -The amulet for the silver weapons and other sundrys (barding, shields, etc) -The hammer for the shadow armour and the hat - or the hammer for two mundane suits of magical +1 armour, subject to availability. You could get that fancy chainmail and there is enchanted wyvernhide amongst the pile for instance, but not the shadow armour. I could have just given you a straight price list, figured it would be more fun to interact with the NPCs and rummage around the mystery item shop. If you' both prefer the boring shop list version in the future then I can do that, but your items will be set at half listed value - so that hammer would be selling right now for the princely sum of 1156gp, less fees based on a suitable CHA skill roll.

( as i understand He charged 250 to get hat, i could pay that so i see no reason we cant get both good amors.
The way i see it Its the issue inorder to do any adventurous things, we both need amor that is light but good and we are prevented that. at lass we hit an impass and solves nothing.
If you want us in fights we need hood amor pure and simple. Its stupid to adventure without it. And we will die without ac. We are both good at travel and go prepared.
Its why I hate interaction with npcs in this game. this has led to yet another countless example of them doing crap to prevent us from moving along, and wasting r time.
Im done with interacting with npcs, at this point all i see them its wasted time.)

" So i see it ill pay 250 gold for i do have gp to do so for hat back.
we sell hammer. And amulet for shadow armor and the chain i wanted. Ill adds in my shield if i have to. So that i can get another one lighter at +1 later, after selling my weapon.
I think that is more then fair to both sides. We all come out ahead."

( It Also your penelizing us cause we refused to get screwed here , yo make half cost in pricess from now on, that sucks! To do that to us for trying to make it faster and not get confused? at half price with the few things we do have makes us dirt poor! This not ok with me and i dont want to interact cause all they do each and every one is piss my character off. And now you do well tough half cost from now on if you have no interation. We need better soultion then this cause this is not fair at all.)

Its why I hate interaction with npcs in this game. this has led to yet another countless example of them doing crap to prevent us from moving along, and wasting r time. Ka'lion was trying to trade a hammer valued (generously) at 3000gp for armour worth in excess of 5000gp ( It Also your penelizing us cause we refused to get screwed here , yo make half cost in pricess from now on, that sucks! The reason is simple - your characters get far more magical treasure than their wealth by level would require. However this treasure is often not entirely suitable for them. By trading it in at reduced cost your characters have the choice of either wealth level of character appropriate items or an over-wealth level selection of oddities. This is not the first time you've complained about the NPCs screwing you over when they haven't been so i'm going to give you the choice of transparency - i'm offering to hold your characters to wealth by level and give you far more freedom in what you buy and sell. No more mystery items, no more haggling with NPCs. You'll get a list of what is available and you'll have a target wealth value that will increase as your XP goes up. Anything much over that will go to your retirement fun, be offered up to your gods, or be stolen by that goblin with a bag of holding that's been following you but which you can never seem to catch. 5400gp of items - no strings attached, wealth by level from here on in.
Your choice - yes or no?Your possessions, and items available at current location will be listed here : kmansadventures.proboards.com/thread/8820/kalion-george-wealth-breakdown

This is more helpful to me but I like the npc encounters and I understand Georges frustrations so far. It has been frustrating for both of us. 1/2 return on items is standerd in the game. But the way the items have been presented in the game they often sound like they are worth more then they are. When you tell me they are artifacts - I imedeitely think 50,000 or more. If you tell me that they are custum items - then I'm going to be more flexable depending on the item in question
Unique ( meaning these are custum or upgraded items ) Graves' robes - Shadowsilk mammoth leather of nimbleness = 3500 ( but now that I know its value and that I need to lose some coin for game balance (Dan if we keep excess coin we will get more dangerious encounters then we have hit points for) I have a better idea of what things are worth:
Magic warhammer 2312 Magic holy symbol 1050 Acid dagger 2302 Hat of disguise 1800
for the shadowsilk mammoth leather of nimbleness and the weapons on the table - I'm redusing the treasure I'm carrying by 3,960 gold with this trade or near to it? It's not where I'm supposed to be at but it's much closer to it. But I would need to also get enough to pay Vasty his fees they are inconvenent but reasonable. By next level I should be nearly where I should be treasure wise. I love custum items myself but sometimes they are hard to understand as to whats reasonable and what issent. Sorry if I've been a problem in the game about it.
The Armour of Izalith Pitspawned Darksteel Chain Hauberk Armor with armour spikes = 3000 (includes darksteel spiked gauntlets) Goerge can't wear this if he is going to be riding with Ka'lion and its just going to get entangled on the way.

But the way the items have been presented in the game they often sound like they are worth more then they are. The items, encounters, etc are all set to be appropriate for your level - things sound valuable, dangerous, puzzling, etc because otherwise you'd just be wandering around with your boring +1 sword fighting your boring 3 level appropriate encounters per day in return for your listed wealth by level. It's supposed to make winning the fights and hauling the loot more exciting, but recently you two seem to be thinking that i'm just screwing with you. I'm not - you could have won all your fights, the DCs for any checks were straight out of the book, and you were getting top dollar on items in Burr Town as a starter up to level 5 and the ecounters in the fell - Osbern and Jellico were giving you top dollar, you were just too cynical to see it. Anyway - you and George decide between you in the other thread/PMs/face to face which treasure system you want to continue under - double wealth of 'random' loot or base wealth of chosen loot. Both of you need to be on the same system, and once you are done you'll get your meeting with Alara, she'll offer you quests, and you can decide to do that or carry on with your adventure elsewhere. (discuss in other thread though please)

(-------------------continuing-------------------)
After more consideration Ka'lion accepts Osberns offer and exchanges the hammer and amulet for the entire contents of the old chest - the shadow armour, two silver daggers, a crossbow, and 20 silver bolts.
Meanwhile George uses his share of the money from the scythe sale to purchase the silvery chain shirt, which he finds both lightweight and durable.
With the exchanges made Ka'lion and George return to the town to collect the hat of disguise and discuss with the guard the cost of shields and barding. The blacksmith is happy to exchange George's shield for a fine looking bronze shield, or a wooden one should he prefer, and will sell leather barding to Ka'lion for a mere 40 gold coins or a light coat of chain barding for 400 - though heavier barding is available.
Purchases made the two return to the inn to consider their options and wait for Alara, the day starting to wear on and stormclouds forming over the town. Ka'lion notes that they are curiously localised and not entirely natural, the townsfolk similarly taking note. While they eat in the inn the two catch bits and pieces of whispered conversation between the locals speculating on Alara's coronation, from what is said it seems to be more than a simple rite of succession.
Graves' robes (shadowsilk mammoth leather) AC +4, max dex +8, armour check +0, spell fail 15%(0% in darkness), Weight 7lbs. +2 circumstance hide, +2 circumstance move silent
Pearlsteel chain shirt AC +5, max dex +4, armour check -1, spell fail 20%, Weight 18.75lbs
