one more question?
Do the books shelves have anything in them. Or are they empty?

George is able to finish off the zombies with his third turn undead of the day, but the bear fairs less well falling to the constructs sword before significantly damaging it. With the fighting over the construct stands guard once more at the open doorway and the house is once again silent, and Ka'lion believes he can make out something, a low humming noise from the side of the room, behind the wall. As for the library itself the books are as much stone as anything else and Ka'lion had difficulty opening them without the pages crumbling to dust. Who is to say what they might contain if the transmutation could be reversed, but for now all he can do is try to make out engraved titles on the covers and spines. (combat over for now, so one last DC11 fort save for the lingering poison in Georges system)kmansadventures.proboards.com/thread/8730/character-status

Working slowly around the room the group narrow the sound down to a single book-case on the right-side wall. The sound seems to be coming from behind it. Pass (he needed a 3+)

remove the books exspecting a trap or lever to open a hidden passage.

Finding that there is clearly something hidden behind the bookcase Ka'lion pulls at the book until one gives - connected to some kind of lever mechanism. The bookcase does not swing open though and George speculates that any rope or similar material in the mechanism would now be stone like the rest of the room. Pulling the lever did result in some grinding and movement behind the bookcase however and hoping that it had at least removed any locks and barriers the party pushes at it until they are able to open a way into the hidden room.
The concealed chamber is relatively small and contains a desk and chair and a few more bookcases. Of note are two items on the desk, both of which have survived the transmutation magic. One is a yellow bone handle for a dagger that seems to have a blue spectral-like blade emanating from it, while the other is the souce of the sound - a glowing purple talisman, a square-shape on a round base, held by an iron chain, that looks impractically heavy to wear. George suggests this may be the anchor.

Ka'lion takes the bone dagger - it's his type of weapon. Then he loans Samious his magic +2 strength +1 short sword for the rest of the time we are here. Knowledge (arcana) Int 12 =+NcpBjHxmp_1-20=22 +4 +8
Knowledge (nature) Int 14 =+p_1-20=36 +4 +6 +2 [druid] +2 [survival] Knowledge (religion) Int 9 =+p_1-20=28 +4 +5 Spellcraft Int 15 =+p_1-20=16 +4 +9 +2 [Knowledge, arcane]
Ka'lions not sure what to do next Either we remove the glowing gem - which might stabblize it or trap us wherever we are.

Ka'lions best guess is that destroying the anchor would land the building firmly where they found it on the material plane, allowing them to simply walk out of the front door.
Any lingering connection to the other plane such as the ghost would not likely remain within the house and the structure of the building itself may fail causing it to collapse.

"Well if we are going to save the books in the library - which I'd like to do for my family. We are going to need to remove all the books from the shelves and move them in to small reinforced places near thefrount door. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO BREAK THE CHANS HOLDING THE BUILDING IN PLACE?

" Chains are metal right? Could we flash freeze like we were on the floor. I would say Hit it with create water from me and your ice cantrip? Both would freeze chains solid. Then they are so brittle you wack them and they should brake. Before we go with that plan do u mind if i take a look at it just so were sure doing it this way gets us to where we want to be? Akso my plan would work however im out of that spell for the day for basicly im almost out of spells today, we never finished resting, otherwise yes it could have been handy to have those for now.

Shamious pips in:
" Heat might work, too. As a blacksmith we mealt down metals to make swords but we strike it when its hot. so it can get quite hot but ones i found just melt faster. These chains look like they woukd just melt from heat. If we could get it hot enough it starts melting and turning bight reddish-orange color it could just brake apart. You would only need to do this on a few pieces of chain rather then full sections. The heat would do the rest of the work."

I think Ka'lion meant figurative chains - the group hasn't seen any actual chains. A large blunt object or magical weapon would be his best guess with this device.

It's heavy and uncomfortable and there is little sign of outward benefit. Though if it is some form of planar anchor it would most likely prevent Ka'lion from being teleported and protect him from lingering distortions such as the one that turned this place to stone.

Ka'lion waves it around, taps it against a few things, tries to will it into action.
Nothing changes. George suggests that the damage to the building is the result of it being pulled along the edge of an elemental plane, and the anchor could no more restore it than had it been pulled through the plane of fire and burnt to the ground.
