Since Tink seems stunned by the approach of the clay monster, Vadania decides she should do something about it while it was still at a distance. She starts with her most powerful spell, a Flame Strike. A 10' foot radius column of silvery flame descends from the ceiling (40' feet up), engulfing the clay golem and those men near it. Being divine fire, only half of the damage is fire, the rest is divine.
Damage: jMPSwqbep_1-6p_1-6p_1-6p_1-6p_1-6p_1-6p_1-6 =30 Reflex save for half damage
Ylva holds her position at the door, growling at the intruders and daring them to come near her teeth...1-61-61-61-61-61-61-6

The golem waddles through the flame, barely scorched. Vadania notes that the men are giving it a wide berth as if afraid of it themselves.
Moriana then adds her own mystical strength - a greenish beam that seems to slow its advance. "Magic has little effect on such constructs, we may be outmatched".

OOC: I hope we haven't lost our sorcerer and fairy, I haven't seen a post from them in a while
Vadania considers Moriana's warning, and that almost all of their attacks, even including melee attacks were primarily magical in nature. "In that case, I think we need to retreat." Vadania will close the doors, then with Ylva at her side, lead the group rapidly away from that doorway, looking for someplace to get out of sight.
OOC: When a NPC warns that this fight might be more than we can deal with, it's a good idea to listen. Especially since last Friday's face to face game would have been a TPK if it hadn't been for the modules specifically saying the characters would only be knocked out.

OOC: I hope we haven't lost our sorcerer and fairy, I haven't seen a post from them in a while Last log-in June 11th.
I think for now it might be best to split the party with Brennen (and possibly one of the NPCs) luring the golem away with plans to teleport off before they can be caught, allowing you to carry on playing solo.
Thoughts?

The problem with that, is if he doesn't come back, would that mean we never rejoin? Which would leave Vadania wondering what happened to them and feeling guilty about it. Though since Tink is the leader, she could make it so.
My inclination would be to keep the party together, but just let the missing player's fade into the background until he returns.

The group fall back through the door, with the sense that they are being watched at every step.
It is an underground maze of tunnels, alcoves, and small storage rooms but nothing substantial and no ambush materialises before the group break back out into what appears to be another abandoned part of the sewer system.
"I did not think they would simply let us walk away" notes Moriana, echoing the thoughts of the others, "what are they doing in there?"

Vadania suggested, "Perhaps they are guarding the trap door to the evil below. They do seem more concerned about that location than about us."

"But if that trap door was important why were their no guards or barricades?" Moriana observes.
Rorsan adds, "we should inform the city guard". Looking about Vadania hoped that they hadn't found their way into a dead end, though with all the magical firepower and Brennens teleportation it shouldn't be too hard to get out even if there were mundane obstacles in their path.

"But if that trap door was important why were their no guards or barricades?" Moriana observes. Vadania responded, " Hmmm, good question. For that matter, how did they know we were there? Hmm, maybe the controlling demon was aware of when we killed the guards at that ambush, and sent reinforcements. But that still doesn't explain why they stopped at just chasing us out of that area." Rorsan adds, "we should inform the city guard". Looking about Vadania hoped that they hadn't found their way into a dead end, though with all the magical firepower and Brennens teleportation it shouldn't be too hard to get out even if there were mundane obstacles in their path. "Good point," agreed Vadania. " We've learned enough to tell them what happened to the guards that went down here. They may just send us back down to clean it out, but at least then they would have some inkling of what's going on if we don't make it back. Fortunately, that golem is between us and the exit."

Tink chips in, "Devils or demons, I can't be sure. They are invisible but I could sense them moving around taking messages back and forth."

Vadania responds, "OK, so they can coordinate. Which means if we stay still they can send a large force to meet us. I'd rather deal with a few at a time, so I think we should keep moving, to make ourselves a harder target."
Looking down the cooridoor, she adds, "Might as well see whats down this way, looking for another way out, and for any way to mess up whatever it is their doing."

The group soon encounter a narrow winding stairway heading upwards. This area of the sewer appears to have been deliberately blocked off a long time ago and given its state Brennen suspects it may have been to allow new construction above.
Sure enough the stairway leads to an isolated alcove in one of the inner walls, where the city had been divided both above and below ground at some point in its history. Covered over by undergrowth it seems to have been unused for some time and leads out into an overgrown corner of a public garden, not far from one of the inner walls gates.

"Well let's go tell the Guard Captain what we found down there," suggests Vadania.

The guard are surprised to see Vadanias group return from a different location, sending soldiers to watch the second entrance. After hearing the whole story the captain sends for more men, spellcasters, and constructs to make an out and out assault on this location.
The group themselves seem suddenly surplus to requirements here, but Tink indicates that if more of these possessing demons are about her ability to block them could be critical.
As the attack force assembles the party is approached by a runner asking that they accompany him to the palace to make their account to the magistrates. Vadania looks out, perhaps some of them should stay.
(choose if to go, who to bring, who to stay)

OOC: OK, this seems like a better spot to split off the inactive character.
Tink and her companion Brennen go with the assault while she sent Vadania and the others to go talk the the Magistrate.
