It is a time of uncertainty the first rebellion vs the Red dragon lords failed. There iron rule tightens and hope dwindles. Yet the underground alliances hold by a thread. this is only wispers in fear of being exicuted. yet of combining an all out offensive could free them all but few leader's truly think it would work. The Good dragons keep there heads down as to not upset the current rulers and have not gone into hidding just yet. Tho know they are being watched and have sent adventures from all walks of life to relay messages to those who have not given up. One said team has been sent by a brass dragon to brake out dwarfs that are working day and night for the Red army. In hoped if the dwarfs get free they can make armor and armerments for the resistance.
We find our party has teamed up over the last few months. With the promiss from the Good dragons if they help it will bring the land back to it once was.
The Orc and half orc tribes have agreed to a non gression pact saying they will not murder or maim only hunt animals and want to use the oasis for there clans. A barbarian, A druid and A cleric ( cleric is a npc) resting camping along side the Orcs. when a few red dragonborn with a band of kobolts come marching up and near the oasis.
In commom from what looks as the dragonborn comander :
" Do any of you hold water rights if so show us the parchment now. It is known by the decree of our king inorder to use the water you must pay a tax or own the oasis rights. We give you one chance to comply in show us the proper papers. If not your trustpassing and must pay us 20gp per head per night while your here or you will be escorted off by force."
What does the party wish to do :
I will point out the kenku could have made a fake one given thier skill in forgery. So for this i will say you have that as an option to hand him if you want.

I say we take that option.
Rolled a 5 and an 8 with my advantage, so depending on the skill used:
Sleight of hand is a 10. Deception would be a 14. Performance an 11.
In the dragonborn’s voice Wind says: “Water rights... chance to comply,” and hands over the paper.

Its deception in this case :
Some rolls ill do off screen to keep the suspense but they do actuly have a dice roller on the actual posting page. So it has an option quick replay. That one wont show you all the cool fount options. Yet if you hit the replay one it will take u to a screan that has a bunch of icons like mirosoft word. On a phone u would need to hit desktop and then it will show u what it does on the computer screen. Then do the reply button. Look for the two dice icons. One will have what looks like an eye on it. Hit that then u will get a thing saying 1-6 change it to 1-20. Then the coad will show u in brackets.
Then next to it not in the brackets add your bounes.
If u want to say do damage only this time instead of 1-20 its 1-6 or 1-8 and so on for your damages, then add your bounes.
When u then click send replay/creat post it will show dice roll but wont add it for you but thats ok i can add it up.
Dont go back to try to put in the totals beacuse i found if i did that the generator could end up some how rerolling the dice for some odd reason. So that awsome crit could change to a 7 or 8 and not be as cool.

Yep test worked great.
The dragonborn inspects for what seams for eternity. He looks it over. He then hands it back. With his stamp.
" it was missing a stamp. Other then that its in order. Thank you for being in compliance. We will be on our way."

Varis sat among the band of orcs, repeatedly lifting sand from beneath him before letting it slide through his fingers. He was dressed in loose fitting, breathable robes of oranges and reds in order to better blend in with the surrounding desert that was now his unfortunate home. With his hood down, messy blonde hair caked with sand clung to his half-elven face while his graying eyes stared out over the horizon. It still surprised him at times to see how much his skin had tanned from this time wondering the desert. No elf should have to live like this. Sure, he was only a half-blood as some were quick to remind him, but what had his human ties ever brought him. The trees were his home, with the feel of grass beneath his toes. Gone. All of it gone. The desert was all he knew now with its endless heat and death. Yet Varis had made it his strength. He no longer felt the heat, not as he once had, instead it now drove him forward. He would bring the full wrath of the desert down on those cursed dragons for the pain and misery they had caused.
The last pebble of sand left his fingers behind as he reached down for a new mound. Such strange company he found himself in; usually blood thirsty orcs now promising to refrain from killing, a kenku, often mistrusted by any civilized city, and a firbolg, also homeless and wandering after the forests died. All following the orders of another dragon, hoping they could trust it and that things would indeed get better. Such a disaster of a situation, yet Varis held out hope. The first rebellion may have ended in failure, but they could not afford to fail here. First step, freeing a bunch of slaves from the dragon army. Hopefully, this ragtag alliance could hold together long enough to pull that off.
Varis dropped the remaining sand and leapt to his feat. Figures were approaching, dragonborn by the shape of them with kobold right on their tails. His long sword rested on his back, sheathed and clothed, while he used his quarterstaff to lean on. Anger began to rise up within him as the dragonborn commander spoke. Paying taxes in order to use the oasis, threats if payment was not received, this reign must end soon. Thankfully, the kenku, Wind he believed they called him, pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to the commander. Holding his breath, Varis gripped his staff tighter, ready to spring to action if needed. However, the dragonborn merely handed the paper back saying that everything was in order. The situation was resolved, or so it seemed, but Varis could not bring himself to trust these dragonborn to hold to their word. His eyes darted through their ranks, looking for any sign of trouble.

Wind looks at Varis and gives an imperceptible shrug, then follows his eyes around.
He hated places like this. Deserts had their own harsh beauty that couldn’t be copied, but oases were special. A place for meeting and rest, they were sacred. To be owned and gouged else you’d die of thirst wasn’t natural.

Varis and wind dont see the kobolts going for an attack stance. None of them seam to be interested to be here. The dragonborn in charge does not seam to be paying them much mind. The Orc tribe do also look at the small short kobolts with mean intimadating looks but not showing hostal actions ether.
The comander " Next time put up a red army flag so we know your part of Thordack's rule and that this oasis is occupied. Make sure the water tax is collected monthly. The next comander that comes here might not be so nice if your missing key element's of our protocol. Red army your going to double time for lolygaging around here now move out.
He and the kobolts double time it away from the oasis. They get about 3/4 of a mile away when :
A streak of bright light flashes in the sky and strikes the ground at alaming speed but no where near too campcite. But still within 60ft or so.
After the flash its evedent its a lady laying on her side not moving.
Immediately the firblog cleric rushes to her side but sees she does not look to have been harmed and he is astounded she is even alive. More to the point that impact ny draw the army back. He scoups her up and brings her still unconscious back to camp at a hurried peace but does his best to cover his tracks to make not obvious he was at the crash cite if other were to return.

'I'll leave each and every last one of you to be picked clean by the buzzards before I fly the banner of that red monster,' thought Varis. Still, there appeared to be no interest in fighting on the faces of the soldiers. As much as it pained him to leave them standing, it was for the best. They had a mission to accomplish, no reason to cause a commotion when it could be avoided. They would all pay the price sooner or later for following the dragon.
Without warning, a bolt of lighting struck down fairly close to their camp, causing Varis to jump back slightly in alarm. He had seen lightning strike before, but always off in the distance and with some warning signs. There had been no rumbling in the sky, no rain, nothing. Just a solitary bolt of lightning... was that a person lying where it struck? The firbolg was quicker to respond as Varis moved closed to get a better look. Sure enough, there was someone lying there in the sand, a human woman by the looks of it. How had she gotten there? Why did she appear unharmed, as if she had just casually been sleeping in the sand? Varis noticed the firbolg carrying the woman back toward the camp before turning back to cover his tracks. Yes, best not to draw too much attention. The army no doubt found a singular bolt of lightning so close by a strange occurrence as well. Varis rushed forward to aid the firbolg.
(In case it is needed, I will roll a survival check to aid the cleric in covering his tracks)
WBs6oy13p_1-20+4
Confident that no tracks led back toward the cleric's tent, Varis took up post nearby looking out toward where the soldiers were marching. The cleric could handle healing the woman, even if she appeared to carry no wounds. If that army turned around, he wanted to know. Maybe luck would favor them once more, perhaps they had been too far off, or in too much of a hurry to care. One could only hope.
(Another perception check to see if I notice the army turning around or if they seem to be continuing on their march)

Callo knows to her the Full Orc tribes were wiped out by the Red dragons in pushment for joining the second rebelion. To set an example not to join up and attack them. After that they chose to allow only few half orc tribes alive. With the understanding to never again resist the Red armies rulership other wise they would be wiped out too.
Varis helps hide the tracks extreamly well.

Orcs... Callo was surprised that even a god such as Isis could have sought to challenge fate so drastically.
But these three were clearly out of place and Callo tries to get a sense of their motives while clearing her head. "Ah, hello there? "

The firblog bows : " Your in safe hands and im shocked that impact did not outright kill you. Yet you are still intact and no broken bones that i have sean. Its timly you got here now and not a while ago.
I am Omar and these are my friends.
Callo gets that Omar actuly cares and not hostel. He being very sincere with her. Tho there is a not so hidden worry for his eyes keep look out into the sands but trying hard not too.
" I dont mean to be rude but its not every day you see a bright light and a beautifull lady come out of it unharmed.
Someone must be looking out for you for no one should have survived that impact.
We mean u no harm as long as you dont mean us any. May i ask what your name is miss? "

Varis stares out after the marching army until he could hold his breath no longer. There seemed to be no sign of them turning around as they passed from his sight. Good, perhaps they hadn't heard. A small relief but a positive sign regardless. No need for setbacks if they could be avoided. Twirling his quarterstaff in hand, sand flying everywhere, Varis turned back to the group inspecting the human woman. He could not help but agree with Omar, how had she suffered no visible damage. It was strange. She must be one of those magic learners, only thing that made sense. Propping his quarterstaff down into the sand to lean on, Varis stood behind Omar nodding as he spoke. The woman didn't appear aggressive, no need to try to frighten her. They had her outnumbered anyway were she to try anything. As Omar asked for the woman's name, Varis grabbed his water-skin, shaking it to make sure it wasn't empty, before offering it down to the her.

Callo makes a practised bow, "My name is Callo, and it would seem that I am here at the whim of the gods, such as they are".
She reaches out to accept the water-skin, "Might I ask where I find myself?"

Callo sips the water and listens to the Kenkus words. The sun seemed to beat down stronger than it had in many years and she realised that her magical wardings had failed, her distant patrons silent, a cost of the journey or a change in the ebb and flow of magic across the ages.
"Thank you", as she returns the water-skin and unfurls her parasol to shelter from the glare of the sun. It seemed likely these were the ones she was meant to help but how to know for sure?

Varis takes back his water-skin and puts it away. Sent by the gods was she? A silly belief. What good had the gods done as they sat aside watching the red army conquer this world, and allowed any attempts to overthrow their reign to end in failure. No, there would be no aid from the gods, if any actually existed out there. If things were to return to normal, if the dragons were to be overthrown and slain, it was up to them to do so themselves. First, however, what to do with the woman? Could she be trusted?
"While I'm glad that you are unharmed, let's just get right down to it so we can all move on with our day. Whom do you stand for? Are you for the red army, or against?"
