(Ah. I was under the impression that IceFang was the short sword.
How much damage does a "hunting knife" do?)

Very little damage, let me check.... looks like only 1d4+2

But it serves it purpose... it grants me a +1 to AC ;D

(... ... I'm just wondering if it can actually be considered a weapon. I've never seen it statted out anywhere, and I'm under the impression that such knives are used to carve up the (choose your favorite hunted beast) once it's already dead, not for the kill. The +1 AC, sure, but I'm thinking maybe a -4 for using an improvised weapon. I'm completely out of the range of certainty here, so I'll leave it up to Japic.)

Oh, no doubt, I would leave it up to Japic to decide if it is an improvised weapon.

From the linked article All About Grappling (part one) I agree with this statement wholeheartedly, so the horse will have to either use her mouth to grab, or use a hoof to step on toes (a horse standing on your foot would certainly hold you in place). These methods make much more sense than a horse lying down on the opponent. For either of those attacks the proper attack bonus for the appendage (hoof or bite) will be applied. Thanks for coming to terms with all the grapple stuff before I went crazy over it. As far as I’m concerned a hunting knife is another name for dagger, so it deals damage as the same and is not considered improvised assuming that you can use a dagger. (Dagger = A small knife that is sturdy for eating, or hunting or murder if you so choose. All weapons by different names in slightly different shapes, all accomplish the same things.) =========================== {ride check 18, success (can guide with knees)} Turning his mount Callian commands Tinsenlaed to attack the unarmed female warrior below. {Touch Atk: 25 vs 15, success} With a shove of Tinsenlaed’s chest Krysta momentarily loses balance and the horse attempts to stand on one of her feet with his hoof {Opposed grapple: 26 vs 19, succcess}. Like the trained animal he is Tinsenlaed manages to pin one of Krysta’s feet beneath his hoof, his massive weight bearing down on her toes {6 subdual dam}. Smiling down from his mount Callian sweeps in with his longsword intent on finding a chink in her armor. {Atk: 30 (nat 20!) crit confirm, fail} Pinned as she is Krysta is easily struck by the blade and she cries out as the flaming damage adds heat to the wound {15 dam}. From her pinned vantage point Krysta speaks to her opponent: Then struggling against her captor Krysta twists and pulls at her foot {Opposed grapple: 28 vs 12, success} finally managing to squeak is out thanks to the sand. She places herself away from the horses head and next to the paladin’s seat. (NW placement) Just then the sticky substance that has been hindering Callian becomes brittle and shatters when he moves. (Callin no longer entangled) =========================== Same Initiative: Callian (27), Krysta (26) _______________________ /-----------------------\ /-------------------------\ /------------(-)------------\ /-----------------------------\ /-------------------------------\ /---------------------------------\ /-----------------------------------\ /-------------------------------------\ /----------[=]-------------[=]----------\ /-----------------------------------------\ |-----------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------------| |------------------[===]------------------| |---(-)------------[===]------------(-)---| |------------------[===]------------------| |-----------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------------| |-----------------------------------------| \-----------------------------------------/ \----------[=]K------------[=]----------/ \---------€-¤CT-----------------------/ \----------¢------------------------/ \---------------------------------/ \-------------------------------/ \-----------------------------/ \------------(-)------------/ \-------------------------/ \-----------------------/ \_____________________/

Krysta, breaking free of the hold of the mount on her foot, turns to Callian, with disgust. She then moves one square northwest, while drawing both her backup Longsword, and her trusty Hunting Knife. AC now back up to 22 But now wielding two weapons

Ok, per the grapple rules, she did have one action left, that was it. She is now officially armed x2. New map:

Tinsenlaed moves five feet south and neighs angrily, wanting to attack the human that got him into this goop.
Callian, meanwhile, has realized his next target.
(Sundering ground-bound longsword...it ought to have 7 AC, 11 hardness, and 6 hp. PA'ing for 6, so a +5 bonus to hit, and 1d8+10+1d6.. Oh yeah...Callian will go for the Ride check (+6! Yay!) so that Tinsenlaed can also make AoO's.
EDIT: There's some rule about elemental damage (the flaming property of Callian's longsword in this case) not doing full damage to objects...I'm looking for it now. IIRC, it's half damage from flaming, but I'm still looking.)

Krysta sees the act of the noble Paladin.
"Afraid, aren't we?" she says, as he strikes out at the longsword that she coveted so much.
This has gone on long enough. It is time to end this! May the GODS grant me the power to be able to be standing after this battle...
Krysta then takes a 5 step move, southeast. She brings her blades up above her head, with a chilling warcry.
"FOR GLORY!!!!!"
+10/+5 to hit, 1d8+5 dmg

{fraggin work……} {ride check 16, can guide with knees} Moving quickly south Callian leans from Tinsenlaed’s back to strike at one of the weapons on the ground. {atk roll 21, success}The blades clash sending a shower of sparks flying. With a sharp breaking sound the blade cracks from its base {dmg 18, -11 = 7 dam.} and Callian smiles at accomplishing his task. Nearby the other weapons wait, ready to be sundered in turn. From her vantage at the pillar’s edge Krysta speaks to the Paladin. She then steps around the edge of the pillar and screams as her eyes narrow in on her target; the burning bag. {sent via PM} {Atk Rolls Nat 20! (crit confirm, success), 11 } Both of her weapons crash downward and Callian is helpless to stop her as the blades slam into the smoldering and broken bag. You can make out the sound of glass breaking right before the world goes yellow in a blaze of fire. {Vials of oil are sundered. They deal 1d6 damage (as alchemest’s fire damage) each (15 vials), and their sudden exposure to fire (the burning bag & alchemist’s fire) will ignite them. I will treat the mess as mini fireball, exploding outward in a 10’ radius. In a rush of fire and heat the oil within the packs explodes outward, covering all nearby with its fiery touch, and ell dive for cover to avoid it. {Reflex Saves (@ 15) Callian 17 success, Tinsenlaed 19 success, Krysta 11, fail} Unfortunately for Kyrsta, her close proximity proved too close and she catches the full brunt of the damage {57 dam}. Callian and Tinsenlaed manage to avoid the worst of it, but the damage is too great for the saddle-less rider {28 dam}. Callian’s body goes limp as his life force is nearly expunged {-9} and with no saddle to keep him there he tumbles from the horses back {1 dam} and breaks his neck, his life force fleeing. {-10} As the flames and smoke recede the onlookers stare intently down to the field looking for a clear sign of a victor, nay, signs of life. Tinsenlaed leverages himself up from where he had fallen and neighs sadly. He moves a few steps to where his master lies dead, nudging him gently. Of Krysta there is not much sign. Closer inspection reveals what little remains of her former body, blasted to pieces from the explosion. From the stands Mordrock Lets loose a desolate goblin howl as he sees that Krysta did not survive that blast. All around the onlookers hang their heads, and a moment of silence fills the air intruded only by the sobs of the mourning goblin and the soft neigh of a master-less horse. This is a sad day indeed. Both Krysta and Callian are dead {Krysta -35, Callian -10}; there will be no victor this day. Two heroes dead, and no victor in sight; a sad day for humanity indeed. -fin- [/center]
