Well I'm usually pretty lcky with dice both on the boards and at home. It worries me though, cause I think that someone might think that I'm cheating or something if I come up with too many good rolls. At home, they accuse me of cheating, but they don't really mean it cause they watch me roll and the good numbers just come up, but around here I sometimes get paranoid if I get the good rolls, then I think of cheating in the opposite way, by deleting them so a bad roll will come up. It's weird, I know. Yeah, i worry about that too but people who have gamed with me enough know that it always balances out in the end. God, we've seen it enough with me here before havent we? ;D Always rolling a 1 just when we didnt need it.... At home i have a set of dice called "The DM's Dice of Death". Traditionally i've always loned them to the DM as they roll dangerously high or low when needed. As a DM, i dont even have to cheat...they roll well on their own.

I don't know what it is I did that pissed off the dice queen, but I am typically a terrible roller both at home and online (though my last set of rolls for Random Acts weren't bad at all). I have one 20-side die at home that I swear is out to get me. It makes games interesting though. I've learned to always have a contingency plan.

Definitely. I usually have rotten luck but sometimes lady luck smiles on me. I got an awesome round of attacks in with my barbarian/ranger against a dragon in the game The Gods Are Crazy. I also had a nice set of attacks recently in the Old Masters game. They are few and far between though.

i'm probably the only person in the history of the universe to say this, but i'm actually very lucky with my dice i'm infamous in my RP group (which includes Wicksy and, on occasion, Spiral) for rolling enormous stats all the time, and i'm the king of the crit in 3rd ed dnd. Speaking of which, me and Wicks were playing a 2nd ed dnd game on friday and we're using the crit tables from combat and tactics. Tell them what the first attack in the combat did to the then-invisible dwarf cleric with 89 HP and -10 AC Simon

Yeah, Danno is an amazing stat roller. People whine and complain about his characters having Uber stats but we all sit there and watch him do it time after time. Got me own back though Friday we were playing a 2nd ed adaptation of King Lear with Giants as the protagonists. Long story short the party was invisible inside a castle. In OOC terms the cleric was arguing with everyone about casting spells. Well i start rolling to see if the giant in the other room hears them squabbling. He does and comes to investigate. He hears footsteps, bars their only escape and makes a saving throw verses spell as he suspects invisible assailants. He attacks with his +3 Scimitar of speed (which lucky for Danno i forgot automatically made him go first each round) hitting the Cleric (of twinked 3.5 ed. fame) on a nat 20. We were using the Combat and Tactics critical hit tables and basically he got sliced open ;D He then sat there and sulked until his character was healed by the party thief who was the only other party member to remember to bring healing salves/potions.

We have a guy like that in tabletop. He rolls crits like crazy. Thing is, guy knows comparably little about the intricacies of the system. He doesn't know how to make a powerful build, min/max, and even stumbles with combat rules. But it doesn't matter, 'cause he rolls 20's all the time anyway. Then there's a different guy who rolls awesome stats, every time. Thus, we tend to use point-buy for my games.

He's not so good with rules, but with KMan, Specs, Merovingian (long time no see) and myself at the table he doesn't get too far off track. In any event this guy rolls more 20s in a night then I roll in a dozen sessions. I think that's partially my own luck to blame though. When dealing with potential high rollers for stats anbd folks that don't like to count the point buy system I prefer teh elite array, that way everyone's on the same, and it doesn't much matter how good/bad they are at min/maxing.

The dice are being strange, suddenly. On hitting Preview it only forms an 'm' after the brackets. It takes a second preview to actually get the results. Interestingly, after that the 'm' can be erased without difficulty.
Just... strange. Anybody else experiencing this?
Example: [dice=20]m[rand=949209103424836154789802607646210750646282498654323799992532751385]

Yep, still requires the dual preview. [rand=091193333218019093446955476206362550781135293900745861545088176386]

RE: The strange 'm' appearing. I am getting it too. Can't really explain it now since there has been no change to the code in like...eight months.

This is about the 'm' thing, right? ;D I make one typo on Shards of the Dragon and don't bother to correct it, and Udjat makes the same typo in my own rinascimento game, which was funny, and now this..? Since I don't have the same problem, I just can't help but think this is a joke. But is Kman in on it too then? [rand=93670493657052674689477101610858381726250055131485408709948145686]

Turns out I get it with ANY previews I make, not just ones that involve dice. I just had to delete it in my last Shards post.
Edit: Freaking m...

It's not cheat proof. Since you can see the numbers ahead of time, if you don't like the roll, you can just cancel the message and start a new one On the other hand, for those who are honest, they can preview the roll, then calculate the defense they hit to save the GM the trouble. And add more die rolls if they roll a crit. And perhaps edit the fluff of their actions to fit the good or bad die roll. At least that's how I plan to handle it, if I get into a game.

Yeah, that system relies on honesty. You can also piddle with the long number string that forms at the bottom of the page to change the dice rolls too. Thing is if K Man suspects anyone is cheating he'll just disable the function and go back to just the DM rolling. Theres no reason to cheat anyway on this board. Its all good fun
