Gabe, Sanem, and Zynthis row Bharash out to The Lovely Lass. Harknail goes along in case anything needs to be done outside the ship, the ancient construct being able to function underwater indefinitely.
When they pull alongside The Lovely Lass, a rope is tossed to them to secure their boat, and the latter is lowered over the side to make it easier for them to climb aboard. Once on deck Gabe and Sanem introduce Bharash to Captain Graybeard, an old salt. When Bharash offers to try mending the hole using magic, Captain Graybeard is enthusiastically supportive of the attempt, ordering his crew to cooperate in anything that that the dragonborn requests of them. The others pitch in and help bail while Bharash works his magic.
The lower deck is flooded up to a person's knees, the hole roughly patched but still leaking profusely. Two men are desperately trying to seal the leaks while the rest of the crew is feverishly bailing in an attempt to slow down the sinking of the ship.
Bharash starts his ritual and and soon determines that it will require 40 gold pieces worth of ritual components to repair the side of the ship. He is relieved that the requirements do not exceed his supply of ritual components, and he continues the ritual. 10 minutes later the patched hole waivers, blurs, blends, and reforms into an intact hull, as good as when the ship was new (which was quite some time ago).
There is still much bailing to do, but the ship is now out of danger of sinking. The crew pauses in their bailing efforts to slap Bharash on the back and offer hearty thanks to the mage for saving their ship.
When Bharash makes his way back to the deck, there is rowdy cheering. Captain Graybeard thanks Bharash profusely, and asks what the cost of the materials used were. But what he pays Bharash is the amount he estimates he would have had to pay to get the hull repaired, 220 gold pieces. The Captain was not at all sure that his ship could have survived long enough for a spot to be prepared to beach his ship, so he is very thankful to the Wizard, and to his former passengers who brought him such a marvelous wizard!
Later, once the tide goes out again, this same group heads out on the water once again along with volunteers from town. With the help of a sunrod, they are able to find all four of the boats that had been in the cavern when the tide came in. Two of them had flooded and sank, but Harknail was able to go underwater to retrieve those. They left the cavern with a fleet of boats to return to town.
The town was also grateful for the return of the Moonlight Mirror that guides ships safely into their harbor. In gratitude, the group was given a pair of magical moonstone bracelets. When the bracelets are touched together, they generate a magical field to protect the person wearing them. (+2 item bonus to all defenses when using all out defense or taking a second wind, This is Parry Gauntlets with a different name and description)
The group is also offered free meals and lodging while they recover from the effects of filth fever.
One last detail before the characters level up, everyone except for the two clerics (Howy and Zynthis) has been infected with filth fever.
There several characters who are trained healers, who can assist in the healing process. Howy is the best, but is limited in what he can do until he gets used to being lame. Zynthis, and Thursagan are also good (+8), Harknail is almost as good (+7), and Gabe is trained but not a natural at it (+5).
Everyone other than Zynthis needs to send in two rolls, and Endurance check and a Heal check from the Healer of your choice. The higher of the two rolls will be used to see if the character recovers, remains stable, or gets worse. Those that don't recover will be asked for additional rolls.
You are also welcome to interact with the town if you like during your forced stay.
