Satisfied with the results Gabe starts piling wood into the main fireplace, "Anyone got a light?" He grins, stepping back to let one of the mages at it. Which of the 6 fire places is the "main" fireplace? Either Wizard could easily light the fire using Prestidigitation (I love that cantrip)

Isn't there a big fire place in the central room on the first floor, or was I dreaming?

Isn't there a big fire place in the central room on the first floor, or was I dreaming? No, the central room on the first floor didn't have any fire places, just staircases. The fireplaces are: Small: first floor reading room small: servants quarters (complete with frozen servants) 2 small: either end of dining hall large: 2nd floor lab large: 3rd floor bedroom. Both the lab and the bedroom are easily large enough for everyone. The master bed itself is likely to be too cold for comfort, but everyone has their own sleeping roll (well everyone who sleeps has one).

"Persephone and I will try and catch some wild game for our dinner tonight, would any of you like to join me on a brief hunt? After the long blizzard there should be game aplenty out" If anyone wants to hunt with Sanem, just roll to assist, if the skill check gets much higher, we'll be eating unicorn tonight! "Frozen servants!?" Zack goes off to investigate. This is the first I remember reading about them. This isn't exactly the kind of thing one would overlook.

If the servants are dead, we should see about burying them (though we might have to thaw the grown first).

Zynthis searches for a spot to bury the bodies. Perception:+4=23 Thursagan will dig the graves on the spot that Zynthis found. Hopefully it is not completely frozen, so the work would be less hard. Athletics: [rand=2882640268653631177760445512831238881665095686919877834850922227]

Of course a spell caster could just scorching burst the ground until it thawed.

Zynthis finds an area of soft dirt that has been insulated by a thick blanket of snow. Digging a hole first requires clearing the snow, but the digging is not exceptionally difficult otherwise. Harknail helps though he doesn't have any previous practice digging.

Actually, Harknail doesn't have much practice at anything other than praying and introspection, having been entombed soon after he was created.

Zynthis asks "How many bodies are there? Are we digging one hole for all or many holes, one for each?"

Not sure we should be worried about burying bodies until after we've made sure we're going to survive the night.
Too bad everburning torches don't generate real heat.
Been in Colorado for the past week. forgot to say anything since it was last minute.

Well, Gabe's happily set up a fire in the fireplace upstairs - the rooms big enough for everyone but small enough that it should be easy to keep warmish. I think we're alright for the evening, unless something goes 'bump' in the night.

If we have enough firewood, we should set up fires in each fireplace, to keep the heat from leaching out.

Zynthis asks "How many bodies are there? Are we digging one hole for all or many holes, one for each?" "There be two bodies to bury," said Harknail. But he had no opinion on howmany holes to dig.
