I was waiting for Sanem or Thusagan to answer Zyntjis's question.

Just to be clear, the temperature is in the mid 30's both inside and out. While the protection from elements lasts, survival at these temperatures and the current (calm) conditions is not a proplem, it's simply an issue of comfort and avoiding attacks during the night.

During burial, Zynthis says some prayers evoking the name of his deity, Corellon.

Zynthis asks "How many bodies are there? Are we digging one hole for all or many holes, one for each?" Thursagan calculates the day light that is left, and depending on it he will answer: "We can dig one for each, we have enough sunlight to make it happen" or "The night is closing, we don't have time for more than one hole" Sorry, I have been out for the weekend

The wizards should be able to thaw out some of the ground with magic, even if it is only one shovel full at a time.

Depending on Thursagan's calculation, Zynthis replies "Ok we'll dig two holes." or "Ok we'll dig one hole."

Sanem found a spot where it's easy to dig, and the group has a clear view of the setting sun. There is time to dig two holes using shovels that Sart found.

Taking a shovel in hand, Zynthis's canine instincts kick in and starts digging away.

So, some of us dig the grave, while the rest set up some kind of camp. Is it possible that the fireplaces would be able to heat the tower by dawn, so that we would be fine when the spell wares off? Is there sufficient firewood? If so, setting up in the tower would probably be better than camping outside. Regardless, we have been lingering over this for quite a while real-time. Can we move things along?

I figured Harknail needed the time to plan his next adventure. I didn't want to rush him.

I figured Harknail needed the time to plan his next adventure. I didn't want to rush him. The burials done, the group locks themselves inside the tower. There is enough wood for the stove for a week. The large fireplace will use it faster, but there should still be plenty for the night. With a roaring fire warming up the master bedroom, the group spends a comfortable night. They set up watches, but mostly to keep the fire going. In the morning the bedroom chamber is comfortably warm, but the rest of the tower is still chilly. After an uneventful night, the group sets off back to town. It's a sunny day, with temperatures quickly heading back to normal sumer levels. The snow is melting, but might last a day or two. Meanwhile the melting slush makes for slow going. Does the group want to push on though the slush or wait for it to melt?

Added OOC thread here to discuss what you'd like to see in the next adventure.

Laira Elereth suggests, "Why don't we try and see if it gets easier before we give up and wait another day before returning."
We could try pushing on for 2 hours. If the slush is slowing us down to half speed or less then we head back to the tower.

The slush is slowing you down to about half speed, but not as slow as the blizzard was doing last night. Even at half speed you should have no problems reaching town before nightfall. And after a full day of summer sun, the next day will be much warmer than last night.

Gabe grins, "Come on folks, it's beautiful weather compared to the blizzard we had before! Let's just take it slow and enjoy it!"
March on in the slush

"You know, I almost think I preferred the blowing snow to all this muck," complains Zack as he uses prestidigitation to clean the mud off his pants and boots.

"Look at the bright side. When we get back, they will throw us a shower to celebrate our success." Zynthis says. ;D

Sanem examines the mud, tastes a little bit and pronounces "This place will teem with life shortly, we have done a good thing here fellows"

Are we waiting on everyone to check in before we continue? Just roleplaying while I'm busy fixing problems at work. Then I'll be able to post the towns reaction to your arrival.Harknail slogs though the mud and slush without comment. This is yet another thing that's new to him. But this experience is one he could do without...
