The range is to short. It's a medium range spell and a cubic foot of earth weights about 10 pounds.

That spell has a range of same plain and only requires a pound of sand, ash, or dust. So it would work well for our purposes, What I don't understand is how this spell is less secure than others, But Vadania wouldn't know that either.

I don't think we are reading the same spell.

"If there is nothing else, where do you travel? I can perhaps expedite your journey"I don't think we are reading the same spell. It is from the Sandstorm book.
Its comparable lack of 'security' is a mix of its nature (the sand audibly repeats the words of the sender) and its widespread use in the nearby sorcerer-ruled empire of sand - though the party would not know for sure Brennen would not be surprised to find that the some of the sorcerer lords have enough control over sand magic to intercept sand-communication spells. Sending stones on the other hand are matched pairs locked to one another.

I have sandstorm - I just don't know where it is. In any case.
"So what's the plan captain. We still need to sell the loot." says Ka'lion

Tink is unfamiliar with the local markets having spent so much time in her crystal prison, but the groups best options for selling their loot would seem to be Burr or Orns companion Kreed back at the monastery.
With the possibility of teleportation however the group could look to move further afield.

Let's give Berith a bag of sand so we can contact him with Vadania's spell, but also ask him to stay in touch if he doesn't hear from us. Like, what if he's in the shower when we call him? I wouldn't wear a pound of sand into the shower. So, like, if he goes two days without hearing from us, he should assume we were prevented from contacting him, and contact us with Sending or whatever his preferred method of magical communication is (maybe he likes Whispering Sand too, it is lower level after all), and we'll keep him informed of events. But that's if he doesn't hear from us—under normal circumstances we'll try and contact him first.
So yeah. Let's set up an arrangement like that, and then he can teleport us to our destination.

"I would ware the use of sands for any communication of a sensitive nature, at least while within the empire. That assumes that the empire is where you wish to travel?"
(where does the party wish to travel?)

"We need a library, a solid magic library that can teach us about demons and devils and those they work with." said Ka'lion

"Demons are as numerous as the stars, no two alike, so I fear a library will do you little good unless there is a record of this one in particular - and for that you would need a name or a point of reference."
He considers, "established libraries of magical lore are guarded jealously but there are perhaps a few you may be able to enter. To the west, the port of Blacksands, the mages are fickle but may be of use if you have something they want. To the south the assembly (Brennens ears pick up at this) are a scattered bunch but include many specialists amongst their number. There is also the eternal library, but its position shifts from place to place known only to a few of the followers of Boccob."

Berith considers, "the priesthood of Boccob. If any were to hold knowledge of demons it would be them, at least of those who would not see you dead. But if you cannot convince the priesthood of your worthiness then you may need to pry the knowledge from less friendly individuals - covens of warlocks and others that have dealings with the lower plains."

"I was thinking it would likely be kill or be killed should you attempt to gain access to the libraries of less reputable groups. The knowledge you seek is true power, guarded more closely that gold and often in the hands of those more powerful and resourceful than simple lords or nobles."
"In truth there is no guarantee that you would find what you seek in any event which is why the library of Boccob should be your first stop. And perhaps your last stop, whatever this demon seeks I doubt it will wait for you to catch up."

Based on the enemies encountered by party Brennen suspects that their adversary is a devil rather than a demon, the flaming bow and animated rope of the possessed woman within the monastery strongly resembles stories of the Erinyes - said to be the descendants of fallen celestials and often confused with the succubus in popular legend Brennen and Tink know them to be more executioner than seducer. OOC: I was assuming that Brennen shared this with the rest of us.

"It's definitely some kind of fiend, but as I didn't see it firsthand, I'm not entirely certain what kind," admits Brennen. "But the flaming bow and animated rope suggest an Erinyes." "That's not the important part," says Tink. "This fiend must be stopped. And I'm not sure we have the time to sit around doing research for a week while it's out in the world causing pain and suffering, especially if there's no guarantee we'd even learn anything useful.""Well, it's all about managing our resources efficiently, isn't it?" says Brennen. "Maybe we can spare some time to share our information with scholars, learn more, go into the fight more prepared. We are saving a lot of time by teleporting, after all." "We don't need to know its personal truename to stab it!"
