rNSiWcZMp_1-6 From behind a tree come see source of the strange sounds heard earlier. Part bird and part lizard, Flerx, Stravanya, and Zem recognize it as a Cockatrice. Fortunately it isn't able to reach anyone.
OOC: Got interrupted by work, will continue tommorow...1-6

The Owlbear screeches in pain as the ongoing psychic damage hits it. Turns out that being right next to a screeching Owlbear is painful. Harknail: 57WSDe43p_1-20+10 = 26 Fort Iron Cobra: p_1-20+10 = 12 Fort Stravanya: p_1-20+10 = 12 Fort Harknail is stunned by the assault on his hearing, Stravanya and the Iron Cobra managed to shake it off.
The Owlbear has a simple strategy, kill whoever hurt it the most first. So it goes for Stravanya, reaching for her with both paws. Unfortunately for the owlbear, it's simple strategy didn't take into account the conditions imposed upon it by its targets allies (total of -4 to hit and take 5 damage). Left Paw: p_1-20+12-4 = 24 Right Paw: p_1-20+12-4 =crit The Owlbear hits with both paws, doing a total of 28 points of damage and leaving Stravanya bloodied. It also pulls her into a bearhug (grabbed).
The Owlbear takes 5 points of damage for attacking someone other than Harknail
Then Flerx attacks it again. Attack: p_1-20+12+2 =21 But it's a glancing blow that bounces off the Owlbear's tough hide.1-201-201-201-201-201-20

Seeing Stravanya caught Barbatos unleashes his sleep spell to try and free her.

Barbatos might want to wait until the monsters finish moving before he decides what to do... Had another work issue come up last night, so I wasn't able to catch up on games like I had planned.

From behind alight hill come a flock of Kenku, most of them running and not quite reaching the group. But one of them has taken to the air and is about 20 feet up when it launches a magical attack of it's own.
It summons a Death Flock of crows to attack those members of the group staying in the trees, as well as Orva. Attack Barbatos: PO4wUo60p_1-20+8 = 22 versus reflects Attack Flerx:p_1-20+8 = 24 versus reflux Attack Orva: p_1-20+8 =13 versus reflex Orva managed to hide behind the tree truck, but the crows reach both Barbatos and Flerx, doing 11 damage each and leaving them dazed.

(torn between using shield to deflect it or the diamond bracers to soften further attacks - the former is probably more productive as it would allow Barbatos to ready a fire shield and return fire... -are the crows summoned creatures in the trees or a magical ranged attack?)

The crows are simply a magical ranged area attack. After the single attack the crows disperse and are gone. What Barbatos does not know is if this attack is an encounter power or an at will power.

(if the turn is waiting on Barbatos he will shield and move to a different tree before the group gets shelled again - ideally he'd want to catch the minions as they move in as a group - i'm not entirely sure how delaying until they get within 10 squares would work, but moving forward he could hit them with sleep from here)

You can ready an action to do a specific as a reaction when a defined trigger occurs. Readying an action is a standard action. When the trigger occurs, you can decide whether or not to actually activate the action.
But the sleep spell has a range of 20, not 10. So you can hit them now if you like, without waiting for them to get mixed up with your teammates. Though you could only catch at most 3 of them in the sleep's area.

With the new attack Barbatos switched his target, hoping to thin out the reinforcements before they could strike. He also takes the opportunity to switch positions making this tree a less desirable target and slipping into magical shadows behind a tree closer to Zem.
Shield to avoid the original attack Move to I23, free action to create a field of shadows at his new location (cloak of shadows) and taking cover as best he can from the spellcaster(s) Minor action to sustain the -2 to hit penalty for the owlbear

Even though Stravanya is held by the Owlbear, she still manages to strike a significant blow.
Barbatos manages to activate his Cloak of Distortion and fire off a scorching blast, but he's too dazed to also be able to move.
OOC: Dazed = single action only. Also Barbatos is 10 feet up in the tree, he'd have to climb down to move, though with the help of the floating rock in his backpack he can move between adjacent trees with little problem (difficult terrain).OOC: Dazed = single action only. But being 10 feet up in the tree does limit Barbatos's options to move.

Flerx continued to focus on the Owlbear, using Running Slash to send two more arrows flying at the Owlbear, trying to take it down before it got to munch on Stravanya. Attack1: Zjkw6tI7p_1-20+12=25 Attack2:p_1-20+12=26 Damage1: p_1-6+8=10 Damage2: p_1-6+8=10 DamageQ: p_1-6
Flerx hits with both shots, but fails to recover from the dazing effects of the flying mage.
Flerx's Iron Cobra continues to try biting the Owlbear. Attack: p_1-20+11+2(CA)=20 (miss)

( Did u possibly forget its her querie or at least i think ot is? Does she not get extra damage on said attack or attacks?.
Nm on that just saw it at bottom of her attacks.
Also did the wizard's attack take out the few ken-kue he aimed at? im just wondering what my next few targets should be.)

But being 10 feet up in the tree does limit Barbatos's options to move. Drifting anywhere that doesn't leave us grouped up to be hit by the spell again is fine. Any kind of cover is better - if required Barbatos can magically shift 5 squares with his orb rather than using his normal movement

No, the wizards attacks did not kill them or even bloody them. They are NOT minions... And the fight just got harder...

That's as far as he can go and still have limbs to propel himself, concealment from attackers, and a clear shot to attack back.
