" Stravanya please keep in mind im ok with proving it, not that i actually feel we need given its truly dead and she can just trust the people who risked thier life for her. In any case as long as it does not mame/butcher the body. I am simply not ok to do that to any enemy i feel many do and its disrespectful to the dead.
This includes any body animal or otherwise. I admit harvesting is a little different given we actually used the dragons remains not just chooped it it because we wanted to prove it was dead. When we told Flerx it was dead she belived us and did not even see it happen.
So as long as she can use the proff and the beast reamins as hole as can be to not anger the gods or godesses in this lands then i can go along in proving it. Otherwise i will simply not agree to that request and she will just have to go it on trust. "

Orva says, "Chop off it's head, it can't fake that!"
OOC: The situations between Orva and Flerx are a bit different. Orva is paralyzed with fear, she's in a complete panic. She can't do anything till that's resolved. Flerx had time to come to grips that she was going to starve to death, or get eaten if she tried to escape. Also she was NOT going to get eaten as long as she was still working on making Iron Cobras. So as I said, different situations.
OOC: Which isn't to say that there is anything wrong with Zem not wanting to maim bodies. Though some of the Kenku are already petty much maimed by the killing blow. And Zem worships the god of War, not one of the nature gods. Kord isn't going to care, though other gods might.

" To the 9 Hells with that! We almost died for you now you insult me? After I directly said i did not want to butcher the body? How dare you say that! At this point we are better off to find a cure ourselves. Stay up there all you want. Im done helping you. Im a medical professional, i did what i could for you and u refused at every turn. Your not thinking clearly. Again i did all i could, the rest is now on you.
Stravanya please know you cut off the head i will not be able to look at you the same, your my friend and as your friend im asking you not to do this. In this party we can do what we want so if you wish too i can't stop you. I just faced my own death today, almost lost the only friends and the best girlfriend who actually loves me back. I literally can not take this anymore im about to brake down and i must be strong mentally so im doing my best.
This is a new look on his face, a sadness and worry that a being would call to cut of a creatures head who was already dead.
To him that was as bad as kick to the balls.

Barbatos wonders at Zems sudden turn, given all the creatures they had killed and eaten in their journeys.
It would seem that owlbear was off the menu. He gathers some cockatrice feathers before that was also off limits and then moves to search the spellcaster for useful components while the others settle this little spat - hunger would no doubt bring Orva down soon enough and then the owlbear would provide a good enough meal for her instead.

( To give a bit of clarity )
Zem then realized what he just did, im sorry im so sorry. He holds Flerx i acted kike a dick just then, I should not have done that.
I should not have said what i just did that was wrong of me. Its been a long warrout day we all had a rough go of it today I almost died, the cobra is stone Stravanya got munch on Harknail had to fight in a way that i know for him was not easy to do but was nessesary. I can only hope i did lose the only one who actuly cares romanticly for me. right then being dick. sorry everyone i know that was embarrassing 4 all of you . i should not have put you in this awkward situation that was foolish, selfish and wrong.
Here my actions are pushing u all away that is the last thing i wanted. My yelling at up you did not help and i promised myself i would not. i tried to hold it in best i could . Yet when you yelled cut its head off its all i could withstand for one day.
It was the straw that broke the camels back as it were.
When you come that close to death you look at the world a bit different then i had before. I can't cut off its head. I understand with new life comes death and tge revise is true. From now one i wish us to try to respect all dead bodies to the best we can, eating and harvesting is still ok. A hunter who hunts to feed a family is fine to do so, he is not maming the body he is respectfull to the dead and the body that gives his family life. Cutting off a head does not do that.
In a glimmer when i was about to die i thought i saw a raven, it was looking at me is shock its head and i came too.
I still not sure what it means only that im still not stone. But...
To himself for a second : It could be the Raven Queen, the one at the moment of our death who protects the dead.. no wonder i dont want to let it be cut up, it defiles the dead body...
He looks up. I don't think the raven i saw would want me ripping heads off bodies. I wish to find other ways other then the one you gave.
kord is my god the one of War. I fallow his cread the best i can but that raven was not his.
When Harknail and i say the battle is over it is, we can't unless it is otherwise we lose face in the eyes of our god. Know he does not wish to destroy just to because. We killed this owlbear and these kenku if they are still alive and i declare there dead kord will have no issue taking away my power he granted me.
So here is a possibility of proff you asked for other then cutting the bodies head off. For you to get what you seek i need to pray to my God :
" Kord one of strength and might. I declare my enemy vanquish on this battle gtound this day. If it is not then my power you granted would be forthfett to you. I ask this to prove to those who do not fallow your ways understand ours."
He will wait to see if Kord takes his power away then aims at the ground as to not hit anyone and lance of faith to prove his power is still there.
(Let me know if it is not please)
Im sorry everyone for my outburst that is no excuse in my behavior i am deeply sorry, hopefully thats enough proff.
And Stravanya and Barbados i was meaning to tell you both. i made a bad tactical error today. You should have blasted all of them not saved them for my foolish mistake. Kords magic did not save me like i was thinking, the fond memories we all shared did. So thank you for being there for me even if i did get testy today, please all know it will be an adjustment to me facing almost being turned to stone its not me excusing what i just did but its not an easy thing to face and i cant face it alone."

Orva said, "It's still alive, I just know it!"
OOC: Asking for it's head to be cut off was actually a response to Stravanya's question, composed prior to reading your post. Given the sequence it's reasonable for Zem to be upset about the request.

Flerx patted Zem on the arm and explained how she felt about the Iron Cobra, "The Iron Cobra was just a tool, like a sword or a bow. Something to help keep the rest of us alive. It did it's job, taking a bite that would have petrified someone else. I'll miss it a bit, but the way one would miss a broken sword, not a beloved companion. It can be replaced when we get back to Sarnath."
Looking at the big laying there on the ground, "Should I start dressing it? The elves must be short of meat with this thing ruining their hunting. I wouldn't mind a bit of fresh meat myself."

Harknail came and examined the controversial Owlbear (heal check=27). He looked up in surprise and confusion and said, "She beeth right! The beast liveth still! See thou, blood still flowweth from it's wounds. It's heart still beateth." He looks to Zem for direction.
OOC: Bears just don't know when to die, and that applies to Owlbears as well. It is mortally wounded, but hasn't failed 3 death saving throws yet. And if rolls a natural 20, it could get up with 1/4 of it's HP.
OOC2: Just throwing in some complications for Zem to deal with <evil grin>

" What in Kords name is going on today? Hark what i just did in asking kord.. O never mind that can wait. O how this day can't possibly get any worse. How in the world can it still be alive after all that was done to it ?. If it is alive we need to end its with grace, mine is not that gracefull it is so that death my come swiftly to send it to the after life, with the body most intact if possible. I ask that we still not cutting off its head. I dont mind eating it but hunny you might want to step back a bit. Stravanya would you like to do the honors given it nomed on you the most? "
( doing more damage to it wont cause it to fail a save like in 5th ed right? I rather not just sit around watching this thing bleed out, that kinda mean too.
So for sake of game play time if it has any saves left is it possible you roll them so that we can know one way or another ? Im just not sure damage will speed in its death saves i cant recall how that works in 4th. I know we get 3 10+ we save 9 or lower we fail. Nat 20 we get back up. Nat 1 is still two fail? )

OOC: In 4e a character dies when it fails it's 3rd death save or when it's HP reaches negative it's bloodied value. So hacking on it more will kill it, especially with Stravanya hacking at it. By the way, you get combat advantage if you're next it, it gets -5 to all defenses, and any hit is automatically a critical (coup de grace).
OOC: Field dressing an animal to preserve it's meat should suffice to prove that it's dead. That's basically removing the internal organs so that the rest of the body cools enough for the meat not to quickly spoil.

OOC: ( True, hence why cutting its head off is completely unnecessary.
I think we can just damage it enough do enough to only end its life completely without chopping off its head. I was just wondering if you actually did want it to get its rolls or not and was more then willing to see the outcome but he does not want it to suffer a clean death without mutilation.)

" Ok Hark, ok maybe your right next time ill be more sure thank you for checking. I could sware that it was down, gone, and very much dead. Yet today you out medicaled a Cleric, nicely done.
Stravanya i feel its in your right to end this beast if you wish too, i only ask that it is quick and painless as possible without chopping its head off and that its not mutilated. Is this agreeable ?"

" Thank you Stravanya for not cutting off its head. Turning to Flerx: Fill free hun to cut out as much meat as you want. Im sure you and Stravanya can with your knowledges prepare a very nice meal 4 us. But i should go talk with Barbados and Harknail about a few things. Let me know if ether of you need need me.
He gives Flerx a hug to insure she is ok.
Then makes his way to Barbados.

As he approaches Barbados :
" I can see you did not agree with my reaction just now. I have always trusted your judgement. I honestly felt my lack of understanding arcana would bit me in the ass today it was litterly. I was honestly thinking if my devine magic did not hit a target it was over for my life. This fight was hard on me. It has shown me a bit different way to look at the world. Before it was fight with honor, defend My friends be at thier aid. Heal the sick and find power iteams and keep them from bad orginizations/beings.
Now i see there is much more to a life, and to living. I know you need take stuff from our kills. Know if that is what you want to do you can. Nothing is off limits as far as harvesting, i just want to respect the dead now as much as i do the living. I also need to know just how powerful that magic that go me was to make sure i can help the party advoid it in the future. Anyway best with your collection and we are good yah?, cause i hope your not mad at me"

"It is a dangerous life we have chosen for ourselves, each for our own reasons, and there will doubtless be many more times we question the wisdom of that choice." The wizard shrugs, "it is why I seek knowledge, that I might answer that question."
George notes that Barbatos' tone is somewhat light hearted, as if the mage was wondering how he came to be here himself.

Trying to cheer him up: " that kenku knew some interesting magic. I wonder where he learned or got it from, maybe it is a iteam or something he used. In any case next time i know i wont have you save the targets for me. Thanks for helping Flerx give cover fire up there. I just was not expecting the kenku to come at us that fast. In anycase there should be food soon. Im going to go see how harknail is holding up.

Stravania's blow did indead finish off the Owlbeard, the blood flowing from it's wounds slowing to a trickle as it's heart stops pumping.
Flerx gets to work eviscerating the Owlbear, field dressing the Owlbear so that it's meat won't spoil. Once Flerx removes the heart and lungs from the Owlbear, Orva is finially convinced that the Owlbear is dead and descends from her tree.
Orva approachs the now very dead Owlbear, but it's not the Owlbear she was approaching, but the cockatrice. Looking at the featherless cockatrice, she asked, "Who plucked the cockatrice?"
