The group makes their way North. The tunnel they are traveling goes straight for over a hundred feet before they come across something... a door.
The wooden door has seen better days, once a sturdy door, it is still mostly intact although not as strong as when it was new. Everyone stops with the door just within the range of Harknail's torch while Doran moves forward to check it out. He returns to the group and whispers that he can't find any traps and that the door isn't even locked.
He did find a small bit of glowing slime under the door and cautions others to watch their step if there is more of that stuff on the other side. He warns that it's slick.
OOC: What does the group do? Also feel free inject character bits in the line above (someone calling a halt, etc.). Especially Doran can put words to my generalizations.
OOC: I have the map ready, all I need is the combat record (which won't take long)

OOC: Also, could I please have an initiative roll from everyone? I don't need it yet, but might as well get one for when I do. Remember that Gabe gives everyone +2 on their initiative (already added in on his sheet).

Gabe checks the group to see that everyone is ready, "Doran do you think you can check what's in that room without alerting anyone? If they see you and you think we can take them call 'charge' and Thursagan, Harknail and me will charge in to engage otherwise let us know quietly to follow and we will in come in slowly."
"If we do charge in I'd like to hit as quick and as hard as possible with everything so once the three of us are in Sanem, Barash and Howahkan can enter and start laying out the damage from a distance. Again don't let any escape to bring reinforcements. Anyone got anything to add or an alternate?" Gabe's Initiative Gabe's Group Bonuses: Any ally within 10 squares that can see and hear me gains +2 to initiative. Any ally who can see me spending an action point to attack gains +2 to hit & +4 to damage[rand=69250236726296122811135250901092386669014026432497928313370623512]

It should show the figures when you preview the message, and they won't change after that, so you can make the calculations.Thursagan initiative: [dice=20]+1+2 = 11 [rand=343048117628253931734906418248962688699188712185869425181765604166]

You need to put "dice=20" inside the bracket (with the number being the number of sides on the dice), that's all [rand=6797698121804691311822492050744918367529938567584297141685087846]

Gabe looks thought fully at the slime, "If it's just near the door we might be able to jump, otherwise we may need to go in slowly as Doran says, hopefully it's not flammable and they don't set it alight when we are in it. If it's wide I suggest we have our ranged weapons within easy reach and take a care in case it's deep."[/i].
He checks his handaxe on his belt and then grasps his Glaive with both and readies himself.

Sanem nods in agreement with Gabe's suggestions. He readies his bow for action. [rand=732829941866372392854418229137885310476938418853861796510208124]

OOC: I forgot to mention that the tunnel bends about 45 degrees 20-25 feet from the door. Map is ready once door is open.
Doran again moves quietly up to the door. Seeing that the door is rotted away at the bottom, he goes prone, holding the door closed while he pears under it. The glowing slime does indeed continue along the floor and more is in spots on the walls and ceiling. The result is that the entire cavern is dimly lit.
Doran can make out two humanoid figures standing nearby. He can not see them clearly because of the dim light, but he can tell that they are armored, have swords drawn, and are standing as still as statues. They are standing about 20 feet away from the door. The one on the right is standing in rubble in front of a pillar of stone, glowing slime goes all the way from the door to this figure (it's standing in the glowing slime and ruble). The one on the left is standing in a spot clear of both rubble and slime.
From what he can see of the room itself, it's a large cavern (much larger than the rooms they last fought in), In the distance he can see more rubble. It looks like a great place to find hiding places...

Still as statues, with swords drawn? Kind of hard on the arm. Perhaps they are statues, or "strawmen", and the real threat is hiding in the ruble. Doran will pause to see if the figures show any signs of movement. The glowing slime is going to make it a bit obvious to anyone inside if Doran tried to sneak in. Doran does not want any of that "here I am" glowing stuff on him, but will scoop up some of it on something disposable before he heads back to tell everyone what he saw.

Sanem observes what is going on keenly. "What do you think it is?", he asks as Doran returns with the glowing slime. "Ever seen anything like it?"

OOC: You're right, standing still with sword drawn is very hard on the arm for any living humanoid.Upon observation the shadowy figures don't show any signs of movement. The armor hangs off them loosely, as if whatever is inside is very gaunt.

"Sounds like a good place for an Ambush, if these statue figures..."[/i] he pauses looking at Harknail "could they be more of like you and be helping the Goblins? We could try and lure them with ranged attacks to fight in the corridor if they are. Otherwise they might be the bait to bring is into the center area. Charging seems out, let's but up a little open the door Doran and be ready Sanem."[/i]

Sanem observes what is going on keenly. "What do you think it is?", he asks as Doran returns with the glowing slime. "Ever seen anything like it?" After asking if anyone had seen stuff like this, Sanem remembers hearing about something like this from a dungeon delving friend. Similar to the phosphorescent lichen that often illuminates caves and dungeons, this naturally occurring stuff can often be found in areas far from any light source. But unlike the lichen, glowing slime is slick. A wall covered with it is almost impossible to climb while moving across a patch on the floor need be done slowly else one will slide, usually resulting in a fall. OOC: Glowing slime (which will be marked on the map) is difficult terrain. For those willing to trust their luck, a character can move full speed across the slime but needs to make a DC 15 acrobatics check to avoid falling prone in the first slime square. Only one role is needed regardless of how many slime squares are entered. Shifting into a slime square also needs a acrobatics check. No roll needed for forced movement (monsters moving the characters).

"Oh, I will be ready", Sanem grins. He tests the elasticity of the bow string. "If there is anything about to attack us in that room, I expect they'll be more accustomed to the slippery stuff than we are, so be careful".
